Heading down into NY was nice, the weather had cleared, the sea was flat and the morning was perfect for a run down the East River.
The first day was pretty ugly, with a depression off the coast driving rain and wind everywhere. Still we made it to the top of Long Island Sound after a day of crunching into the short, steep seas that seem to enjoy themselves in this part of the world.

And here he is, Mr Firefighter Tom in all his glory. Of course, it is about 5,000C under all that firefighting outfit, but, as you can see from the look on his face, that doesn’t matter at all!
